Most people dream of a black canvas, but what happens when you are booked at an Arizona venue with unforgettable, dominant architectural features?
For this corporate gala, the event design directly into the venue’s features rather than fighting it. Featuring a sloping, vibrant crimson ceiling punctuated by sharp geometric cutouts, the indoor space required meticulous event space planning and sharp coordination.
Here are three intentional rental and design choices used to complement, balance, and elevate this bold architectural space from concept to completion.
1. Mirroring the Environment with Highly Reflective Chrome Seating
Standard wooden or fabric banquet chairs would have felt entirely out of place beneath the room’s high-gloss, crimson overhead paneling. The solution was to embrace texture over competing colors. By sourcing our sleek, reflective chrome dining chairs, the seating plan creates a dynamic visual loop. The polished metal surfaces catch and mirror the intense red lighting from above, making the room feel cohesive, deliberate, and undeniably upscale.
2. Grounding the Color Palette with Crimson Monochromatic Accents
When an indoor space features a massive saturated element, adding too many contrasting colors can cause visual chaos for attendees. The design choice here was beautifully disciplined: stick to a clean, monochromatic red and silver palette. We deployed crisp silver satin table linens paired with bold, solid crimson fabric napkins dropping cleanly over the edge. Combined with tight, low-profile red rose arrangements, the design perfectly anchored the tablescapes while honoring the venue’s striking palette.
3. Swapping Traditional Linens for Architectural Cocktail Furniture
To maintain the clean, contemporary aesthetic into the networking portions of the evening, the layout entirely skipped traditional, fabric-draped cocktail rounds. Indoors, our high-shine chrome hourglass cocktail tables stood as standalone sculptural pieces near the perimeter. As guest traffic flowed outdoors onto the concrete courtyard, the design seamlessly transitioned to modern, geometric black wire high-tops. This intentional choice kept lines clean and open, emphasizing the architecture rather than hiding it under heavy drapery.
